Pam Bellinger

Occupation: Home educator

Involvement in Transition Leicester/Community Harvest Whetstone:

I joined Transition Leicester’s Food Group which started in May 2008, and that led me into the spring 2009 CSA meeting at Whetstone Pastures Farm. Instantly hooked! Two years on and I find myself Company Secretary of CHW, and about to leap from volunteer grower to paid grower.

I find the variety of tasks that need to be done exciting, from organisational to practical. One day it’s carpentry, the next it’s company law.

Favourite CHW Vegetable: Onions – because I enjoyed many satisfying, blistering hours weeding them with my son Alfie.

Other interests:

I’ve been home educating my four children for the past 25 years and have two grandchildren; I’m a Morris dancer with Black Annis, a Leicester women’s side; I love sewing (chief polytunnel mesh darner); I belong to the Leicester Re-evaluation Counselling Community.
