Occupation: Freelance PR Executive/Creative Involvement in Transition Leicester/Community Harvest Whetstone: Attended the first meeting in 2009 to find out more about CHW. While I decided not to become a crop sharer myself (as I'm attempting to live the Good Life and grow my own veg at home!), I offered to help out with promoting CHW to a wider audience. I'm keen on supporting the local food movement and environmental issues and have recently been working with Leicestershire Food Links and Blaby Farmers' Market. I'm often at Whetstone Pastures Farm as I'm friends with Sandra and Anthony, help run the Knit Pickers knitting group and worked on the Pick Your Own fruit field last summer. I try to get to as many Community Days and events as I can.
Favourite CHW Vegetable: I'm proud to have helped harvest the first crop of baby salad leaves from the polytunnel which were delicious Other interests: Knitting and other crafts, cooking, gardening, cinema, travel, shopping for vintage bargains and looking after my adorable rescue dogs, Daisy and Tallulah! |
